Beacon Falls is a town in New Haven County, Connecticut, United States. The population was 5,246 at the 2000 census.
Beacon Falls has a Metro North railroad station on the Waterbury branch of the New Haven line. Settlers from Derby, Connecticut settled Beacon Falls in 1678. The town was incorporated in 1871 on lands carved from the neighboring towns of Bethany, Seymour, Naugatuck and Oxford. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 25.6 km (9.9 mi). 25.3 km (9.8 mi) of it is land and 0.3 km (0.1 mi) of it (1.01%) is water. As of the census2 of 2000, there were 5,246 people, 2,032 households, and 1,450 families residing in the town. The population density was 207.1/km (536.6/mi). There were 2,104 housing units at an average density of 83.1/km (215.2/mi). The racial makeup of the town was 96.97% White, 0.72% African American, 0.08% Native American, 1.03% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 0.40% from other races, and 0.76% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.13% of the population.
